Nexigen-Vision, Passion and Determination
Submitted by: Scott J. Malof, CPA/PFS, Malof & Associates CPA’s, LLC
The idea was formed out of a friendship that began between J.J. Schaffer and Jon Salisbury when both were working at Best Buy in Florence in 2002. In 2002 J.J. and Jon were also formulating the idea for a computer services company that was based upon a platform widely known today as Cloud Computing. But back in 2002 the concept of housing business software and databases offsite was a relatively new concept. Nexigen, which was formed by J.J. and Jon in 2003, provide, among other services, Help Desk, Outsourced IT Dept., Internet Presence, and Server Maintenance functions for their fast growing client base. Today Nexigen is an Emerging 30 honoree, with 18 employees. Located in Erlanger, Nexigen has a planned moved into a newly purchased commercial location in Newport this August.
Nexigen’s stated mission is to relieve stress, increase efficiencies, and improve the general well-being for their clients and employees. One of their biggest challenges, like most technology companys these days is finding individuals that are knowledgeable in technology. But they also look for those people who are fantastic problem solvers, and have a great personality.
When solicited, J.J. gave this advice to those starting out in business, “Get to know yourself and chose others that complement your weaknesses”
J.J. said this about the benefits as an Emerging 30 honoree, “Meeting other successful, growing business owners and sharing the experiences of running a growing business”
