Flying Under the Radar with Ralph E. Dusing
After 15 years directing the commercial division of a local Builder, it was time to take a chance. Ralph Dusing started his company in January of 2009. Not exactly an ideal time for any business to begin. Right? But, as time went on, it became evident that the key element to Blue Grass’s success has been Ralph’s perpetual community involvement and networking skills. With a long history of volunteering at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, people just know his reputation and trust him.
Most new projects come in the door from a single phone call and end up on a sole bid basis—under the radar. It could be a small service call, office remodel or a new building for a personal investment. With 4 employees, Ralph runs a lean and efficient business. It has paid off, as 2014 looks to be a banner year. But before 2014, and particularly when starting out, Ralph was conservative. He did not overpay himself, he paid down debt and paid all others first. Ralph states that he constantly reads articles about what makes others successful and brings positive thinking to work every day. He feels that instilling a positive attitude with his clients and employees causes good things happen. Also, being patient is almost as imperative as cash flow.
